3 Reasons Not To Be Frustrated When The World Hates You

1456841306 (1)Have you ever spoke the truth or showed love and it led to hostility from others? How about the time you told someone you’re giving up a bad habit or you decided to surrender your life to Christ?

Did they embrace your decision to change or could you feel some envy or maybe even some jealous coming from them?

Envy is a spirit of the world it’s not of God.

You have had enough in the past of evil things that godless people enjoy-their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. Of course, your former friends are very surprised when you no longer join them in wicked things they do, and they say evil things about you. (1 Peter 4:3 NLT)

I remember when I was representing Satan and his world by getting high, chasing girls and being down right defiant and self-righteous. I wasn’t trying to hear nothing about God.

The world loved me when I was acting insane until God calls me out of it.

My so-called friends then started  asking questions, “Oh you’re too good for us now Vernon?”

Their favorite, “I remember you use to do the same things we did or did you forget?”

Sounds familiar? I bet.

God reads your heart and no matter what you’re doing if it’s not His will for you He will direct your path back to Him.

The world will remind you of your past because they don’t want to see you change. But you shouldn’t take it personal or be surprised.

Why?

Because Christ said the world will hate you and He can’t lie.

Non-Christians wants you to believe being a Christian is being perfect so when you fall short they can say you’re no different from they are.

Their motives are to keep you discouraged and to keep you from  following Jesus.

When Jesus mentioned the word world He wasn’t referring to a planet. He was talking about an evil spiritually system that manipulates, lies and controls people.

He was relating to the world Satan offered Him when He was in the wilderness. He was talking about the world we live in today.

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:19 NIV)

The same way God made us in His image, Satan is making people in His image. The difference is many people can’t see it because Satan has blinded them.

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV)

Christianity is making right decisions daily to be more like Christ. It’s walking in love, faith, and truth.

It’s  telling others how they can be saved too.

Our Father can save you some pain so when you fall short, repent, make amends, and keep on trying. That’s all He asks of you.

You must be careful of what you feed your mind because this world view of  Christianity is distorted.

It wants you to think doing good, quoting scriptures and going to church faithfully every Sunday is being like Christ.

Satan don’t care about these Christians because he’s watching how they act away from church.

But TRUE Christians know better. They are the ones who scares Satan because they can see.

THEY CAN SEE how Satan is using television and music to conform people’s mind to the ways of the world.

THEY CAN SEE how Satan is attacking families and marriages.

THEY CAN SEE how Satan deceives people by imitating Christ and false teaching.

TRUE Christians have a one on one relationship with Jesus that involves more than KNOWING who He is.

It involves HAVING Him in their heart.

For example, recently Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams forgave the person who accidentally killed his wife in a car crash.

He picked up his cross and followed Jesus to the best of his human ability. He showed godly love.

Only a person with Christ in their heart can do that.

When you became one of God’s children the world instantly hated you for choosing life over death, light over darkness and love over hate.

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I haven chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. (John 15:18-21 NIV)

Think about the over 100 million Christians around the world who’s being persecuted because of their faith in Christ.

Think about how Cain hated his brother Abel and killed him.

Think about how Joseph’s brothers hated him because his father loved him deeply.

Think about how Saul hated David so much he was obsessed with killing him.

Hating Christians have been going on for a long time and it goes to show you that people who live godly and stand for Christ will be persecuted.

But don’t get frustrated when the world hates you because of your faith because there’s hope.

Here are 3 truths that should keep you inspired:

  • The world hates you because you’re not of the world. When you took off the world and put on Christ people no longer recognize you. Because of Him living in you, you stopped loving things of the world. Having Jesus in your heart causes you to change the people around you.

But although the world was made through him, the world didn’t recognize him when he came. (John 1:10 NLT)

  • The world hates you because they hated Jesus first. Jesus have overcome the world    and will soon be coming back. Change is what God desires for you. He will not judge you when you struggle with doing what is right and fail. He knows you’re not perfect. Don’t listen to the world.

And this world is fading away, along with everything it carves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever. ( 1 John 2:17 NLT)

  • The world hates you because they don’t know God. The only way to know the Father is through the Son Jesus Christ. He will ignore all your religious acts so learn to serve and honor God from your heart. He came so you could live life abundantly and to have eternal life. Remember He reads your heart.

And this is the way to have eternal life–to know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. (John 17:3 NLT)

God have unique standards by which He measure His children. To the world being hated  is considered bad but to TRUE Christians it’s a good thing. It shows you’re no longer friends of the world and you welcome it because it represents the truth about Jesus living in your heart.

ASK YOURSELF:

Do I act godly or religious?

Do I really believe Satan controls the world?

  1. Thank you for sharing your convictions so clearly and masterfully.

  2. Hey Vernon,
Keep up the great work. I think God has some big plans for you in his kingdom. And the devil knows it, and will do anything in his power to destroy you. But greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. That’s why the world, and the devil hate you but they will never succeed.

    • Hey Archie,

I receive that! I believe we all have a ministry in our heart. We have to let God lead us to where He wants us to go.
So lets keep encouraging one another to fulfill His plan.
      Good to see you here.

  3. So true Vernon- the world hates us because even though we are still in it we are no longer of it. And thank God for that. If this world is all we had then how sad! Thanks for reminding us of theses truths. God bless

    • Hi Belinda,

The thought of this world being all we have is sad indeed. There is nothing we can do to escape the coming judgment but live according to His will.
It goes to show that what be believe about God is crucial but so is the way we live.
      Thanks for visiting,
      Vernon
