Escape Into a New Life

I remember the times when parents would have their children on a leash.

Whenever the child strayed the parent would pull the leash and the child follow in place.

It seemed humiliating to me watching a child being treating like a pet dog.

Parents who use these leashes (body harnesses) say its for the child safety.

When we grew up safety were our parents first concern also but we knew not to run off; we obeyed them willingly.

What a blessing that’s not God’s way to get His children to follow Him.

He gives us the freedom to follow Him obediently.

I imagine children on leashes wanting freedom after watching other children walking or playing without them.

I imagine them wanting to escape their reality.

Just like those children wanting to escape their reality people escape their reality also by fantasizing, denying, gambling, justifying, rationalizing, eating, drugging, avoiding, isolating and many other ways.

Facing reality is painful.

God place us in situations to help us grow spiritually and for us to reach our greatest potential.

Most of the time it’s not to our liking or understanding so it SEEMS better if we escape.

The devil deceive us into believing it’s better if we flee by taking the road that most people take.

The broad highway to hell.

You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for many who choose the easy way. But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

What are people running from?

RESPONSIBILITY. The parents I mention earlier of having their children on leases don’t want the responsibility to teach their child not to run astray. THEY CHOOSE THE EASY WAY.

Responsibility are not burdensome. They are gifts from God.

When we take care of our personal responsibilities it satisfies us spiritually, however, when we don’t they become overwhelming, depressing and the feeling of the need to escape is greater.

Be sure to do what you should, for then you will enjoy the personal satisfaction of having done your work well, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are responsible for our own conduct. (Galatians 6:4-5)

Few people ever find that narrow road to life when they choose to live their life by default.

Doing so allow their circumstances and feelings to make choices for them. Then they find themselves doing things even when they know the results will be devastating.

You don’t have to live your life trying to escape anymore, because God have heard your cry.

Your prayers have reached His ears. He will not fail you!

In my next post I will explain how God will teach you the right path to take. All He ask you be open-minded and willing.

  1. You are so right many people tried to escape their reality by doing unnecessary stuff. One of these is playing loud music constantly. I believe that they do not want to hear their conscience so they drown it with noise.
