Nothing Else Matters

photo-1427435150519-42d9bcd0aa81We all have been hurt in the past one way or another.

For example, your friend betrayed you and left you bitter and full of resentment or maybe as a child you waited for your father to pick you up but he never arrived.

Your first reaction to your hurt and pain was negative.

You automatically rejected your spirit and relied heavily on your thoughts believing somehow it will magically take away your pain if you could understand…Why?

But what happened to you back then doesn’t change the fact that Jesus loves you; Nothing else matters.

Satan loves when you lives in the past away from God and His grace.

Denial, once your friend, protected you from your past hurts but also kept you from living in reality.

The reality that God loves you. The question you must ask yourself is do you believe God loves?

If so then how long?

How long you’re going to hold on to your past hurts, pains and bitterness?

Jesus is waiting for you to give them ALL to Him because they’re holding you back from growing in Him.

He want you to know it’s time for you to move on.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfected of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Admitting your hurts will not only help you but will also stop you from hurting others close to you.

He’s sorry that you had to go through such trails but He know that the way to spiritual growth. But being unwilling to forgive is giving others power to hurt you today.

Your unforgiving heart is hindering you and entangling you in your race. God will give you grace to find the willingness to forgive them.

Ask Him.

Understand loving God and having the right to live in heaven for all eternity is what’s important.

Compared to eternity; Nothing else matters.

ASK YOURSELF:

WHAT HELPS YOU KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS?

WHY YOU THINK IT’S HARD FOR YOU TO FORGIVE?

WHAT DOES HARDSHIP DEMONSTRATE ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?

  1. Vernon, Satan enjoys reminding us of past hurts and pains. I had to make choice to not engage the the hurt and remember forgiveness is my road to freedom from the hurt. Another great post! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Amen! Satan also has a team of people who reminds us how we use to be. BUT GOD! Thanks for commenting Marilyn.

  3. This is so good Vernon… Spot on for me and fits in perfectly wit the blog I added today! Thanks for the words =)

  5. It depends on the person and circumstance. Some people suffer all their life from trauma. Especially if the trauma happened as a child. Children learn to dissociate and that skill is not easy to eliminate. I agree that we need to look forward and press on but we also need to face the things of the past. Peace can be felt through the atonement. When no one understands what we went through Jesus does. Life is an opportunity to grow. We have to experience sorrow to know and understand what joy is. Some of us do suffer great trials our whole life though. For some it will take a whole lifetime to heal from one awful event. I don’t think it matters at what rate. I just know it is important to move forward even if we have to stare the trial head on and pull the dagger out, stop the bleeding, scrape out the infection, and wait for it to heal. I believe that the Atonement can heal without scars being left but it takes some faith and patience on our part.
