Self Reflection On New Year’s Resolutions

Most of us know what we are thinking , saying and doing.

We know the things that aren’t productive or unhealthy.

But here’s the deal; change is more than knowing.

Change is an action word.

Change is about DOING!

If nothing changes then nothing changes.

People trick themselves at the end of every year with their New Year’s Resolutions.

Telling themselves they with stop doing this and start doing that.

Well how’s that been working out for you?

Exactly…

“For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” (Romans 7:18)

If a person truly do not know who he is then he will continue to tell himself lies and believe them.

People, good itself does not dwell in us only our sinful nature.

But the Holy Spirit also dwells in us!

And that’s the power God promised to give us for guidance through life.

We are powerless to change ourselves.

Only when we first trust the Holy Spirit we will begin to trust ourselves.

Change is not about replacing a bad habit with a good one.

No, it’s about trusting yourself.

It is about identifying what you are doing that you want to change and praying to God to give you His power and grace to change it.

Then on God’s time the Holy Spirit will guide you on the steps you need to take.

On God’s time not yours.

In 2018 stop telling yourself lies and making excuses for yourself when you do not stick to your plan.

Instead, let God show you everything He has in store for you.

He is constantly planting new seeds in your heart.

But DO something different with those seeds and allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate them and bring forth a tremendous harvest.
