God Show Me How To Instantly Activate Your Power

imageYou know about God’s power. You have experienced it before so you understands with God’s power you are more than a conqueror.

It became a part of your DNA the moment you believed in your Lord Jesus Christ.

You are convinced faith small as a mustard seed can move mountains.

Then the trails of life comes and scares you. Everything you know and believe about God now you must practice.

The news about your father having cancer came just weeks after the police found your only child dead with a needle stuck in his arm.

You pray for God’s help but this time it’s different.

You hear no answer.

You have no peace.

You’re spiritually weak.

This causes you to question how much longer can you hold on.

Everyday becomes an uphill journey.

Sometimes life seems so hostile that our spirits are broken and our ability to hear God and love others are nonexistence.

At other times it seems like trails keep coming one after another.

Even though times like these make you feel lost there is hope for those who are willing to take steps toward instantly activating God’s power.

Each time he said, “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.” So know I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)

This passage tells us we can tolerate and bear anything. All we need is God’s grace.

It’s okay being weak and powerless because that’s when God’s power works through you.

God promised us He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear.

Why then are so many Christians bearing more than they can stand?

Because the power of temptation and God’s power both comes from within. And most people have experience listening to their mind and feelings (temptation) than listening to their spirit (God’s power).

But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. (James 1:14 NIV)

Your flesh wants you to believe you’re the only one who have problems. And your mind says no one understands what you’re going through.

This is the perfect time for the devil to isolates you and throw you this awesome pity party. Where no one else is invited except for him, your feelings and your thoughts.

Not good.

Understand it’s the Holy Spirit job to remind you that you’re not the only ones and it’s common for all people.

But remember that the temptations that comes into your life are no different from what others experience. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT)

We all experience pain in some form or another and a lot of times back to back.

I just lost my mother to cancer and there where times during the process of me watching her slowly die I would doubt how much I loved her.

How’s that you might ask.

Because I wasn’t reacting the way I thought I should. I thought I supposed to be screaming and falling all over the floor.

And that I would be sad all the time even depressed. But I experienced none of that.

I mean, I cried from time to time, and still do from missing her, but my life kept on going.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)

I told God what I needed and that was His strength to endure my lost. I thanked Him for all the wonderful years I had with her.

I had accepted it in my spirit long before she passed away.

When the devil’s invited me to his pity parties I told someone about it. I let a trusted friend know what my mind was saying.

Remember the devil wants to separate you from others while God wants you to unite.

Moms passing made me see the importance of relationships. I now look for more ways to be of service to others and this gets me outside of myself and into the Power of God.

Here are three things you can do to instantly tap into God’s power:

First accept what is by understanding you’re not the only one who’s going through something.  This don’t mean it won’t hurt or that your feelings aren’t important.

It means you will be able to make wise decisions in spite of your feeling. It means learning to be content with things is your life that cannot be changed.

Next find someone who believes in you. Someone you can trust and who won’t judge you when you share your thoughts and feelings. Sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we need someone else to restore us to sanity.

They should be someone who’s willing to tell you the truth about yourselves. God works through people therefore His instant power can come from someone else too so try not to be defensive.

Lastly, do something for someone else. When you do this God’s instant power is seen in every situation.

Because His power is in you everywhere you go you’ll be able to love others calmly and peaceful during painful and difficult times in your life.

God’s instant power is a process of learning how to find serenity while living and accepting life as it is.

Life isn’t always fair, predictable or controllable and that’s okay.

Because it’s when you become willing to face the hurts in your life and consider how you reacted to them in the past, that will lead you to break those destructive cycles that’s killing you and taking you farther and farther from God.

  1. Hi Vernon,

It’s so nice to see your post on the ABC after a long time. 🙂

You’ve written that most people listen to their mind and feelings but do not listen to their spirit and that is so true. This is what makes our life path so difficult. Temptations lead to suffering. The more you listen to your mind and become its captive, the farther you go from the benign grace of your spirit.

As I understand, complete trust in and surrender to God and His ways is the key to end suffering and commotion in the mind. You just need to follow His plan by following your true instincts and inner voice.

I’m sorry for your mother but it brought a about a change of your perspective. The three things you see now to tap into God’s power are so true – understand, share, and care.

You’re right, living and accepting life as it is – that’s the way to go.

Thanks for such beautiful thoughts with us. Have a nice week ahead, and happy holidays to you and yours 🙂

    • Hi Harleena,

When our burdens become to heavy then we are willing to surrender to God’s will. We can’t surrender enough.

Temptation does lead to suffering reminding us it’s a battle we can’t win alone. We must be guided by the Holy Spirit and allow others to help us think and live in new ways.

All God wants for us is rest for our soul and for us to have a peace of mind.

      Have a Happy New Year!

  2. Hi Vernon

It has been a long time so it is great to see you write this wonderful post.

I am so sorry about your mum and all you had to go through. You are right that some times our mind tempts us by controlling our actions. This seems to make our spirit helpless.

As you brilliantly highlighted, we need God to take control of our lives and actions because we are certainly going to face challenges. Who best to help us overcome this challenge than our father.

Thanks for sharing this post. Take Care 🙂

    • Hi Ikechi,

What going on my friend? With God’s help we can do anything. We are all winners and over-comers because of Him.

What a joy and gratitude we have when He picks us up and not allow our problems to defeat or destroy us!

Thanks about mentioning Moms. Sometimes we need to go through some dark struggles before we experience the joy of victory.

      Jesus wins!

      Thanks for visiting.
